Does this look normal?

This is the inside of my gas tank on a 2000 nitro 901 cdx. Does it look messed up? It’s bone dry. Is that sludge or just discoloration?

Zoomed in, looks like discoloration. I would get those particles out though since you have it empty and dry.

Looks like varnish from gas that 's been siting for some time, however try spraying some carb. cleaner on it and see what happens. It should dissolve it if it's varnish.

Thanks for sharing- I haven't seen such a view before. I suspect that a lot of us might be unhappy with what we see within ours with that view. I'm wondering if that will dissolve with fuel sitting in the tank. A good filter should take care of any particles that might find their way upline..
