Actually, if one is familiar with boat operations a sounder is truly unnecessary. The skeg will tell you that it is shallow and the hull's centerline will tell you it's really shallow. What else do you need to know?

Mac, I don't recommend the thru hull model unless you have the upgraded bildge option on your rig.:unsure:
