1999 Optimax 225. Haven't had any issues with overheating and motor has been on computer twice in last year. Have been working on several things on boat and motor, batteries, starter, fuel delivery, etc. to get the boat ready for possible sell or spring. Have boat firing up nicely and sounds fine while running on water hose/muffs with no alarms sounding. My problem is there is no water being expelled from the tell tale hose. Water pump is functioning, tell tale hose is not clogged. Pulled the inlet hose from air compressor and water is getting to there just fine, just not making it through the compressor to tell tale hose. Anyone else ever had this problem or have some suggestions?

I think the motor has to heat up to a certain temp before it will start peeing. I could be wrong tho

Why has it "been on the computer"? Did you hear any alarms, or were there any codes? Serial number please.....

I was getting a sporadic alarm earlier last year, very hit and miss. I took it in to be careful even though boat was running fine. First trip they told me it was battery connections and spark plugs and "fixed the issue". Took boat out and alarm was back. Brought it back to them and they said it was the sensors that had gone bad and fixed that. Both times running boat in their pool and on river with no "issues". Boat has been sitting since this time except for the occasional crank to let it run for a second (always with water hooked up). Bought new starter and batteries recently because I felt it was dragging a bit on start up, which took care of that problem. Boat was "peeing" fine at that time. Went over last weekend to mess with it some more and it is no longer peeing with water hooked up correctly. I let it run for a couple minutes max because I didn't want to harm anything. Not sure on serial number at the moment, the boat is not at my house.

Ok, let's try the easy route first. Put it on the hose again and start it. Watch the water pressure gauge as it will respond quicker than the tell tail. If it has between 2 and 4 psi at idle, let it run for approx 3 minutes. It takes a lot of water to fill a 3 liter block. We might have to check the strainer in the adaptor plate for debris if this does not work. It may be a simple case of running it longer.

I really would like to see a computer printout of the operating parameters....

had same problem on 60hp merc . hot water faucet, instant cure. dont know where you are but it can sure get cold in Ks.

Alright, found the problem today. Had some serious calcium looking deposits built up in the inlet to the air compressor. Was looking at it in the dark last night and this was the one place we didn't check apparently. Unplugged the blockage and tell tale stream returned immediately. Took boat out afterwards and the boat ran great. Thanks for all the help.

Good. If there was that much "stuff" built up on the inlet, the hose [depending on serial number] could originate from the adaptor plate fitting. If you remove this fitting, you'll find a screen approx 3" long. It should be checked. Any obstructions in this hose or inadequate water pressure could cause a compressor overheat, and it should have triggered a code......

I can't believe nobody's suggested seeing a Urologist yet!!

Sorry,.....slow day at work!..
