Can y'all reccomend what brand of Ball Jigs or Shakey Head jigs you have used and like as well as the best floating worms used on the jig.

Let's discuss, thanks.

There are a number of options....

The Spot Remover:

(Long shank hook, ball head with a flat bottom... stands up real nice in most cover)

The Spot Stalker:

More like a traditional jig head... puts craws in just the right position for biting, has a concave head that slows the fall

The SpotSticker:

Ball Head jig with extra long hooks.

I've used all of these at different times... my 'go to' is either the spotsticker with finnesse worms, the spotstalker with tubes/craws and the spot remover around rocks with finesse worms.

My favorite finesse worms are the Reaction Innovations Flirt and the Yamamoto Kut Tail.

I've bought some of the jig heads and differant types of worms for this technique but I never seem to remember to break them out when I'm on the lake. For one thing I hardly ever use a spinning rod and another the lakes I fish always seem too muddy. I do have one or two clear water lakes I frequent but not often. Is this a good technique for stained or semi muddy water? Same question for drop shotting.

Harpo

Harpo, I've not had much luck with either technique so far in the stained water I usually fish however on the 12 acre pond I also fish which has gin clear water I have had very good luck with the standup jighead and a finesse worm. I also played around with the Yum Craw Papi on a Bite Me jighead and caught quite a few fish with that also. These are new techniques for me this year that I am far from having mastered yet but so far they are working on the clearer water. The smaller standup jigheads on 6 pound line seems to work pretty well with a medium light rod but with the Bite Me jigheads I am not getting very good hooksets all the time so I think I need to go to a medium rod with a faster tip. Does that sound right?

I think this is the best jig head it was listed it this months FLW Outdoor mag

Sim and others, 2 questions:

1) From looking at the pictures, what is the difference between something like the Spotsticker and the generic ball head jig??

2) The spotsticker is supposedly the hotest/best presentation method around my home lake for plastic worms. So i'd like to try using them this summer, how do you rig and fish them??

The SpotSticker has a longer hook... 3/0 and 4/0 in most sizes... most 'generic' ball heads have smaller hooks... otherwise the head is a ball head.

For rigging... It's a texas rig. just forget about the ball head and rig just like you would a straight shank t-rig...

Sim - So on Cumberland, I want to use these dudes to slam those smallies right??

Mid July dude, can't wait!!
