Was checking the rules for the T that Rob and Dave are fishing, and found this:

17. Logo usage and television coverage

On Days 3 and 4 of all EverStart tournaments, no logos or patches, other than the EverStart Series logo or logos of the EverStart Series sponsors may be worn during the tournament hours extending through the weigh-in. On Days 3 and 4 of the EverStart Championship, anglers who make the cut must use equipment (i.e., boats, electronics, trolling motors, etc.) and wear shirts and PFD's supplied by sponsors of the EverStart Series. On Days 3 and 4 of the EverStart Championship competitors may not fish while using tobacco products.

Does that mean since Nitro/BPS are NOT sponsors, that someone will provide Rob with a boat, and clothes for the last 2 days if he makes it?? I've heard of this at the big T's like the Classic but i'm very new to this T thing.

It "kinda" reads like this..."On Days 3 and 4 of the EverStart Championship, anglers who make the cut must use equipment (i.e., boats, electronics, trolling motors, etc.) and wear shirts and PFD's supplied by sponsors of the EverStart Series." That "supplied by..." sounds like they will "supply"... I wonder if they have a stable of 20 boats etc. laying there for the use of the guys who make the cut? Otherwise, we'll be scrambling to get our guy some stuff...

That's what I was thinking Greg. So if they do, does that mean you and I can "borrow" them for Days' 1-2 for fun!!! LOL

Mini/Mac/Pierre and the rest of you famous Pro's what's the deal???

They supply them...that's why you see KVD in Ranger's now and then!!!

KVD in a Ranger...oh man..that's as attractive as kissing my sister...where is the justice...oh well...I'd just grin and bear it I guess...LOL

Interesting. Also remember, that on days 3 & 4, they are weighing in at a local WalMart, and not at the boat ramp. This probably gets them big time extra bucks from the sponsors.

Those guys might be from the hills of Arkansas, but they ain't no fools!

Do we need Rich to create a new section called "Getting Scott a DATE!" We could post pictures and contact information for Scott, set up blind dates for him with our friends and relatives, then post replys from the ladies on their dates.

Heck, we could call it "Scott in Pre-Spawn action!" LOL

A little learnin' never hurt nobody!

me!

BTW, Ken, I went to BPS at noon and bought the Spirex 500. It came with an extra spool and had the double-paddle handle that I like. The BPS Pro Qualifier was nice, but I just preferred the Shimano.

The BPS Pro Qualifier rods were still on sale. They are Sweet! Unfortunately, they didn't have one in ultra-lite. I did take a very, very close look at the MH trigger though..... Had I had the need for one, it would have gone out the door with me!

Scott,

Not only is she "my sister"...she's married...and well over the big 60!!!! Besides, I haven't a reason in the world to be that mean to you...LOL

Heck, Greg, I don't know why not..... Look what Treppie said about me being in "pre-spawn"!

To answer the question further than Ken took it.

Days three and four of all FLW Outdoor Bass tournaments (All American, Everstart and FLW) all boats, motors, electronics, etc. are supplied by FLW Outdoors. Heck they even drive you to the lake in matching Chevy Trucks usually with a police escort. You used to have the option of wearing a "sponsor" shirt (which you are paid to do so), but you must fish out of a Ranger/Evinrude or Yamaha supplied by the tournament. I dont know if it still an option on the shirt or not.

Before you are allowed to leave the staging area for the ramp at the local WalMart you are inspected for non-sponsor logos and are subjected to having them covered with duct tape (they have multiple colors too! lol).

You are not allowed to fish and use tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, chewing, etc.). You MUST reel your line in and place your rod on the deck to smoke and/or chew. You are free to smoke and/or chew while running from spot to spot. This is to minimize the exposure of tobacco use on television. Funny thing is that the whole "grass roots" of this organization came from a tobacco sponsor i.e. Red Man. But it is Irwin Jacobs' organization now, he and/or his people make the rules. If you dont like em dont fish em. Thats is why I dont fish the BFL in Michigan, but I will admit I did enter the two FLW Forrest Wood Opens that were on St. Clair and never got in, came close though.

Thanks Ken and Mini, WOW that's a LOT of investment in equipment, trucks and people for a entry (?) level pro event.

So, Mini - Is your not fishing BFL because you DO smoke and/or chew?

Actually KVD owns a Ranger or two among his FIVE boats!

Kevins brother Randy owns more bass boats than anyone I personally know. He sells Ranger, Champion, Triton, Nitro and a bunch of aluminum models. Eveytime I see Kevin on the water or the road, he has a Nitro.
