I just have to put a quick note up about dealerships. Some are good, some are medeocre, and some are just down right terrible.

For those of us fortunate to have a good dealership nearby, it's important to hold them up as models for others, and as a resouce for those who are dissatisified with the quality of service they are currently getting from their dealership.

If you're looking for a dealership in west-central Illinois or east-central Missouri, I want to commend The Fishin' Hole to you. Located at 8500 Watson Road in St. Louis, this dealership has been very good to me as an owner of a Tracker product.

They have a very clean, well organized display of both new and used Nitro, Tracker, Sun Tracker and Tahoe boats with a good selection of aftermarket accessories and parts.

Where they really shine is their service department. Let me tell you about my last service experience.

I needed to get the water pump impeller changed on my XR6, so I called to schedule an appointment (and highly recommend setting up appointments in advance). The day of the appointment, I dropped the boat off at 9 am right when the dealership opened. After filling out the work order and getting my claim tag, I flew to Corpus Christi, Texas via Dallas-Ft. Worth. When the plane landed at DFW airport (at 2 pm), I turned on my cell phone and not two minutes later I got a call from The Fishin' Hole telling me that my boat was ready to be picked up.

There's a small problem. I'm in Texas. So I asked if it would be a problem if I couldn't come get it until the weekend. Nope, no problem at all.

The service was done, the motor was tested, and I got my boat back in the same condition that it was in when I dropped it off. Had I not flown to Texas, it would have been a 5-hour turnaround on my service work.

This wasn't warranty work, mind you, but I have consistently been pleased with the response time on any kind of work they've done on my boat.

I also want to commend Jon Springmeyer for his friendly, no-hassle style of working with customers. He smiles, tells you like it is, and answers questions forthrightly. His business card says, "Cast in...and see us!" and I recommend that you do. The Fishin' Hole is one dealership that sets a standard of service and friendliness that other Tracker and Nitro dealerships must meet if they want to be competitive.

So, in the opinion of this member of the NTOWS, The Fishin' Hole is the kind of dealership that owners want to see, and I commend them for their good work.

That is the kind of information we like to get...

And, congrats to the folks at The Fisjin Hole.

Mo, that place looks great!

Nice to hear GOOD things about a dealer too.

Too bad I'm so far north in Il., cause I'd sure like to have a place like that nearby. egMike

I, too, have had dealings with The Fishin' Hole..... I bought my first Nitro there.

Two Thumbs Way Up to Steve who runs their srvice department!

Jon and I have had some misunderstandings - mostly caused by me. He has done EVERYTHING in his power to correct them. Jon, if you read this, I think it's time I got around to saying "I apologize. You are good people and you run a first rate dealership!"

me!

I don't know Mo...Looks TOO clean;) Nah seriuosly looks like they have it together! Seems simple doesn't it! Keep a good lookin' place and make customer's happy...it ain't rocket science yet don't get me started on how some your uh-hum (larger) dealerships isn't do anything but, givin' them a bad name!

This is what I don't understand...why don't they care more about it?
