My 12 year old niece has been showing an interest in fishing. So we bought her a spinning outfit at BPS for her birthday. She loved it and my son and I loaded up a backpack with a bunch of topwaters and Mann's worms and headed out with her to hike into our favorite pond. On the way we realized we had forgotten our tape and scale. The kids wanted to be able to measure the fish. The last place before we got there was a Casey's gas station. We went in and looked and no tape measures. My niece says " buy a sewing kit". I'm looking at her thinking "what". She walks over picks one up and says " see it has a cloth tape measure in it". I guarantee a guy would have never thought of looking there for a tape.

We bought it and they caught bass all day on topwaters and rubber worms. They had a great time and measured quite a few bass up to 18 and 3/4 inches. My niece's biggest was a 17 1/2 inch bass. Not a bad day for her first outing with the new rod.
