I noticed my old post about Sharkhide that there were a few with questions and comments about price.

Yes...it's pricey but, isn't anything good and you'll probably never need to do it again if your boat is trailered:)

And no you don't coat the bottom...wouldn't last on the running surface anyway. I applied it on the gunwales, the sides from the graphics down and down the front to the start of the running surface which is just below eye level when trailered.

It only took about 3/4 quart to do the whole thing and enough left over for touch ups if needed ( I haven't yet).

Don't use acid cleaners regardless of what you've heard. Polish it out during the winter or down time and aplly it at first good weather and you'll be ready for years and years.

Acid cleaners will only open up the pores on the aluminum and will start oxidating almost immediately and will be even harder to remove next time.

It's also alot easier if the boat is newer because of oxidation removal.

E-mail me if you want further instructions...peace out:cool:

It will polish off....get ya' some BPS metal polish or 3M polish. Although I can say the BPS brand works just as good and is alot cheaper. Get ya about 20 old towels...a couple of buddies and have at it. Don't tackle too big of an area when polishing(12"x12") because the oxidation will turn the towel black so you'll have to keep flippin' the rag.

You can use Scotchbrite on some of the worse areas but, bottom line is it will have to be polished anyway so why bother.

If you know somebody with an orbital polisher...that will work even better but, you better have a TON of bonnets because a used bonnet or rag will only smear the oxidation back in.

Once you start...you'll know what I'm talkin' bout:)

Well worth the time and I highly recommend it:cool:

Better have PLENTY;)

Just e-mail me with any questions about application...it's pretty thin stuff.

You'll never look back.

I cleaned the boat over the weekend and repolished my SS prop and the SS Tracker will knock yer eyeballs out:p

I've been wanting to polish up my prop. What did you use to get the shine back?

NoCAL

Mine is brushed finish.....I used a fine wire brush for the worst scum and then use CLR with a nylon brush and it'll look like brand new. I also gain 2 MPH every time I clean it:cool:
