Where can you get the original trailstar lights ? I have a 2004 and one of the original lights is not working (I fish in brackish water along the Gulf Coast). Or can you get a new set up that is better and will fit the trailer without any modifcations. If so, where ....Wal mart ? thanks, kenny

I've replaced the trailer lights a few times now and you pretty much can find replacements that are identical just about anywhere. I replace the whole light assembly each time.

Kenny,

I also fish the brackish water of Mississippi, I replaced my lights with LED's. No trouble at all just make sure you seal the wire with shrink wrap and liquid tape.

Acadamy sports sale a good set for $55.00

Thanks for your reply Troy and Julio.......actually I thought mine were 'toast' but I cleaned them up and coated them with neverseeze and they are working fine again. Had to 'cut off' the bolts that hold the light to the trailer and replaced them with stainless steel bolts/nuts. Here is a bit of advice in regards to any bolt/nut on your trailers......either neverseeze or coat with greese any thing that has to be removed sooner or later. If not, get a cut off tool and or grinder because things will seeze up and won't come off normally. It takes a little time but in the long run, it pays off.......take it from someone that has used a grinder and cut off tool many times....I have learned my lesson-it is much easier to use a wrench. kenny

Here is something else I did while 'fixin' my tail lights- I noticed that the plastic cases/lenses are open at the top so water collects and just sits there......I drilled a small hole at each end and one in the middle to allow the water to drip out. Doesn't that make sense or am I missing something here? I thought about it trying to figure out why it wasn't done in production and still wonder if I was missing something. The lenses were getting slimmy from the water just sitting in them. Any comments or thoughts ? thanks, kenny
