Is Tracker having Quality Control issues? Seems like there are a lot of posts as to cracks, decking, leaks etc.. I hope not because I like mine and had just about decided on a Z8 or Z9 for my next one. When I see those multiple posts, I'm getting nerveless.

No, they are not. As a matter of fact, it was just recently at a Company meeting that we were praising how far they have come. I am fortunate enough to be able to have serviced these boats for over twenty five years, and can say without dispute Tracker has some good stuff. Yes, I have seen problems, but 99% of the time they have taken care of it. Really good bunch of folks. It doesn't hurt for them to have a good dealer or two either...

Jskid,

All companies have issues at times, but the problem is a happy customer doesn't vent! Just human nature to speak up when you have a problem and stay quiet when nothing is wrong. My Tracker had leaks that I have spoken about, but overall the boat performs as advertised and I am very happy.

Bottom line, you don't stay in the boat making business these days without making a good product. Check out the dealers and find one that has a reputation for helping, as they will be your first stop with any issues.

Then go fishing!

Jskid - I was a very happy Tracker owner for five years (?). I had a 2002 Tracker PT175 purchased in 2003 (leftover). It did have some minor rigging issues (console light, loose speedo cable, clogged livewell valve) but ALL those issues were minor and easily repaired by me or the dealer. It ran trouble free and never leaked a drop (except when I forgot the plug while launching - but only once!!:lol:). I added a rear ladder, bimini top and basically used it all over Lake Anna and the Potomac creeks. My son teared up a bit when he watched it pull away by its new owner saying "I have a lot of good memories in that boat" and he was only 6 years old at that time!

Enjoy your boat. Don't worry about problems reported by others until they actually happen to you. Chances are that most won't! Finally, remember the old marketing adage. When a product/service is bad, folks tend to tell at least 10 people. When a product/service is good, they tell only two!

Jskid, As in the previous post the guys have said that people that are happy with their products very seldom talk about them. If ther was a problem though everyone would hear about it. I have been behind the wheel of one since 96 and could be happier. And now I sell them for a living.
