Well, as soon as I return, it's time to go again. Heading to Manhattan for the week. I will be staying 3 blocks from ground zero. My familly has requested pics. At first I was a little hesitant to capture such a thing on film, but after further thought, came to the conclusion that it could be own personal memorial or tribute. When my children are old enough, I will explain to them that our freedom was attacked and that many innocent people died so that we can live as we do. I think an up close and personal picture will help make it a reality for them as by then, the intense emotion will have faded. For me, the picture will always remain crisp in my mind and where I was when it happened. One of my accts, (Port Authority) was in 1 World Trade CNTR. Will be visiting them at their new location in NJ. Will be a little tough I guess. I don't know why I am posting this other than to request prayers for those still there in clean up, obviously those we lost, and for myself, that I might gain some understanding as to what the hell went wrong with the world that day! I have flown into Laguardia twice since 9/11 and will be there this week. I'll be damned if I'm going to let terror keep me out of America's FREE skies! Have a great week all!

Rob:

Someday, you'll be glad you took those pictures.

I was in Pittsburgh on that awful day, and although the plane that crashed in Sommerset County hit 85 miles away, I will never forget standing in the parking lot of the Airport Marriott hotel, arguing with my secretary over a cell phone, that a plane had NOT crashed in Pennsylvania. It was right at the time the FAA was bringing all the aircraft down, and the approach corridor was right over my head. Then I walked back into the hotel and saw CNN on the lobby big-screen, with a scrolling marquee that said "A United Airlines jet has crashed near Pittsburgh." I wasn't anywhere near the action, but I definitely felt attacked that day.

My birthday is December 7.

My dad's birthday is September 11.

Odd, ain't it?

We're flying to Salt Lake on Friday. I heard that a Southwest flight attendant was doing the pre-flight briefing and said, "If any of you are intent on hijacking this aircraft, take a good look around you. Those are the 85 people who are going to beat you senseless if you do."

Have a great flight!

My partner is a corrections officer and after 9/11 felt a duty to go and volunteer her time with the NYPD. During her 3 days there working with the NYPD doing shift relief, she was given a tour of ground zero. Upon her return home she shared her pics and stories of first hand accounts of what happened and in her words, "being there and seeing it, was just too surreal."

So take your pictures and preserve the memory in anyway you can and share them so everyone can see. There is nothing wrong with it.

Cass :)
