I have heard a rumor that there will be a 19 or 20 ft tundra soon. Does any one know the straight story on this?

I sure would like one of those tundras, im done with glass boats. too flimsy, gotta baby em and they are a constant maintainance headache.

My problem is, do i get the 18 ft(wich will do), or wait for the bigger one?(which I would prefer).

(I would be po'd if I bought the 18 and they came out with a 19 or 20 3 months later)

Any help on this topic, or tundra owners with some evaluation/input would be great.

thanks.

sorry for the double post.

BTW, any links anyone can tack on to get more info on the new mystery tundra (19, 20 whatever) would be great.

The tracker site doesnt show a thing.

thanks again.

Steve: There is currently a 18', 20' & 21' Tundra on the market. I have specifications that I can send you tommorrow when I get to work. As soon as the website is updated with the 2003 information, I assume it will have all of the information as well.

Hey Steve, it's true. We currently have an 18 walk-thru and a 21 DC in our showroom (BPS Auburn Hills, Mi), and a 20 walk-thru in the yard waiting to be rigged.

Steve,

The 20 foot Tundra is basically the 18' stretched out in the back to give more room and larger live wells. The 21' then takes the 20' and stretches the front giving a larger front deck with more storage.

Personally, I like the 20' the best.

OK Craig and others, I can see the need for 18 and then maybe 20 or 21 ft, but why would you invest the $$ to build 2 boats that are 1 foot difference in length?? Why would I buy one or the other if they are rigged/designed the same? Now remember i've not seen either boat, but 1 foot difference seems strange to me.

Oh Tin buyers are strange huh Mac??

Let's see currently announced 2003 Nitro bass models:

Size Model

16'4 640lx

17'0 700lx

17'6 nx750

18'2 882

19'2 901

20'2 911

20'4 898

20'9 929

Let's see in some cases less than 2 inch differences in length and 3 boats w/in 7 inches of each other!! And you DARE say Tin buyers are strange!!!!

We glass guys just luv choices....size, color, outfit, options. Then you have the tin guys......tin or painted tin?

Heeee, Heeee

TOXIC

Trepper...UHHHHHH....I could just tell ya what the wife said about that, but I'll keep my mouth shut.

Craig

the 9 series boats and the 898 aren't even close when it comes to more than just overall length.......the 898 and the 911 even tho they're 2" apart...aren't even REMOTELY the same boat...either in design, performance or layout!

I could point out a BUNCH of other differences too,..but it sounds like it should be in one of Toxic's "inuendo" posts!LOL......look a lot deeper than just overall length...you've gotta consider, width, depth, sq.ft of storage and max HP ratings...materials, warranties,..etc.

There's more than meets the eye young Trephoppa!!

Mac - Ok then i'm fine with a 20 and 21ft Tundra!!! Yes I know the difference in beam, hull, design, layout... just making a point between your comment that Tin buyers are strange because we want a 20 and 21 ft tundra, not any different from 3 boats w/in 7 inches!!!!

Craig - It's not the length of the rod but the action in the tip!!!

I'm just steppin' on your schmeckle Trep.....don't make me twist and grind now too!!! lol

Trepper posts...

"Let's see in some cases less than 2 inch differences in length and 3 boats w/in 7 inches of each other!! And you DARE say Tin buyers are strange!!!!"

Wife says...

"In some cases, 2" makes a HUGE difference!"

Craig

Mac - My schmeckle is JUST fine thank you!!! LOL

Craig - I'm with Marke, I guess in your case 2" would make a difference BBWWWAAAAAAAAAA

Is it gonna be warm enough to fish this weekend? (Just thought I'd change the direction of this thread).

Craig

Craig - Yup gonna his 60 on Sunday, but i'm taking the boat into the shop on Saturday. Hey call the guys at Atlanta (Tim in service) and tell them Neeley authorized an intercompany funds transfer to upgrade my 40 to a 75 Merc!!!

TREP,

I took a 75 in on trade...less than 10 hours, 2001 model....DIRT CHEAP...

Mac,

If your motor isn't ready then take my boat. Just leave some Crappie or Walleye in the livewell when you bring it back.

Marke

Just remember....I'm always watching, always listening...nothing escapes me...except Mac's boat. Now where in the heck did we put that thing?!?

Ken - Wife would KILL me if I bought a new motor on a less then 3 year old boat with a perfectly good motor. By the way, how cheap is Dirt Cheap and what is a 2000 Merc 40 2 cyl classic with about 50 hours on it worth???

3k for the 75 and around 1200-1500 for yours on the open market.

The 75 is worth around 5k!!!!!1

Hey Ken, Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know I made it home OK with that used 901 you sold me. I hope cash was OK..It was such a great deal also..Now all I have to do is scrub all the toon of the glass and it will be golden..

BF

Hey Trep I'm sorry I wasn't here to help defend the "Honor of Tin"... As soon as Junior is out of College I promised my wife I'd buy her a new 20' or 21' Tundra... Got the funniest look from her... Like she didn't want a new boat... Oh well, she is confused and doesn't know what she wants. I on the other hand know (almost) exactly what she wants (almost because she doesn't know if she wants 20' or 21' and it does sort of depend on how much garage I, I mean she, needs). With my schedule back onto the two walleye circuits I will need a new rig... So, she'll have to get one to "loan" to me! I'd get the 75, if I were you (and that is certainly my fatherly advise to you) and call it an upgrade for the kids...you know for tubing and skiing and stuff and for safety...

Unfortunetly not a good time to Spend and extra $1500 I don't have, and the house needs a bad paint job!! And we just had a new roof on the house.

BUT Ken, just in case I find a way to convince Beka, is there actualy a way to get that motor to Atlanta w/out a lot of expense???
