Looking for new transom tie downs for my 04 PT175, currently still have the OEM ones and one is starting to fray. Would prefer to stay with the 1" wide with the clamshell type closure w/ the material behind the clamshell. Anyone know of a place to get OEM stuff?

Rod Saver makes some nice wide ones that I'm currently using and happy with...I think I got them at Wally World.

Get the retractable ones that stay on the trailer from Rod Saver...they are the bomb..!

yeah, tried the rod savers 2" wide, don't seem to want to fit on my set up, the top portion of the tiedown from the clamshell clamp up seems a bit too long for mine.

Do the retractable ones not rot out soon since they get dunked when launching/loading the boat??

I've had my retractable ones on for several years now without rot of any kind. Would be good to amke sure mechanism is lubricated so it stays operational.

Go with the stainless version of the retractable boat buckles. I put them on my 2003 pt175 5-6 years ago and will never go back. I have them on my skiboat also. No hassle/no brainer in my book.

I give mine a WD40 bath every now and then, I have had absolutely no issues with them in 8 years. I can't say that in regards to my trailer, which is rusting away at an alarming rate.

Smitty, it's all of that salt water you run!!:lol: I had the original ones on my trailer when I sold it and I did the same wd40 bath every once in a while. I would go stainless if I had to replace them. I've seen a lot of "Stainless Steel" stuff rusting lately and I'm beginning to think it is somewhat hyped and not worth the exra $$.
