Maryland Trailer Isnpection

Does anybody know if a trailer under 1000lbs in Maryland needs to pass inpection? I am really confused as to what the proper process is to get (the soon to be "my") boat in the water.......

Yes it does, but they only check the lights, tires (condition and DOT numbers) and saftey chains.
