The previous owner of my '99 185 Sport had the boat recarpeted. It looks great, except there are no snaps in the new carpet for the bow cushions and the rear section of the bimini top.

How can I determine the exact location where the snaps should be? Also, can someone point me to a product that allows you to install the base (female) section of a snap on carpet that is already installed? I'm sure something like this exists (I hope).

Thanks much.

You can locate the position of the carpet snaps by noting the other side of snaps on the cushions. Usually the male part of the snap is the non-removeable part and the female part is on the moveable part of a snap setup. That allows for the least amount of debris to be collected in the parts.

The male part is installed with a flat head phillips slot screw into the mount surface.
