Has anyone here installed livewell lights in thier boats ? I fished my first torney in my new to me nx882 and i had a heck of a time finding the3 fish in the wells when i needed to cull. My old boat had lt grey wells and it was easy to see the fish but this boats wells are black and the fish blend right in. I do like the black wells because to me the fish seemed calmer when i opened the doors but they sure are hard to see in there. th marine makes a livewell light but i have no idea where to get them from. if anyone hjas installed them where did you buy them at ?

Do a search on this site for livewell lights. There was a post a while back with part numbers.

Jim,

I have installed livewell lighting in my 882. Since the sides of the livewells are easily accessable by removing the adjacent storage compartments, the installaton is a snap. I also have mine set up with a tilt switch on the door so that the lights come on automatically when the door is opened. The lights are from TH Marine, part # LWL-1 (www.thmarine.com). I ordered them from BPS, but all major marine suppliers carry them. I think they are about $10 each. I also added a thin (about 1/16") piece of white painted aluminum sheet (Home Depot), cut to fit, to the bottom of the livewell. Most of my fishing is at night, and it works great. For more details, email me.

I recently read where someone placed a piece of white plastic in the bottom of their livewell. I think they mounted it with water proof cement.

Installing the lights might be a good thing to post on the grab bag maybe a picture or two of where you mounted the lights and switch. Just a thought

Great idea, Mike! I'd be real interested in seeing how this is done...
