I have a 1999 nitro 205 f/s and sometimes I have water in the rod/ski locker in the bottom of my boat. It doesn't always seem to be there. Has anybody experienced this or know somebody who has? And yes, the plug is in good. And no, I am not talking about after a rain storm with the cover off. :)

Thanks for the help,

Dave

Same here. I think it might be something to do with the livewell system. I've seen my front livewell overflow, and i think it leaks into the ski storage. I thought it was the rubrail, but i re caulked that.

Anyone else have any ideas? I hate to see water in there when I'm out fishing.

Anybody? I'm about ready to take it to the dealer and have them take a look.

I've come to find out it happens without the live well running as well. Some days I have 4-5 people in the boat, and I look down in the ski storage only to find a puddle of water.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

thanks.

"If water is leaking in, it will also leak out".....

Leave it on the trailer, put the livwell plug in from the outside, and fill the livewell. If your bilge fills with water, there is a breach in the plumbing / livewell internally. If you see the thru-hull fitting leak, remove and re-bed.

Install the boat drain plug and fill to the floor, this will tell you if the drain plug and or housing leaks.

Gunnnel or rubrail leaks are a bit more tricky, but a garden hose sprayed directly on the underside of the rubrail will usually help isolate this as well. ;)

Thanks Bob. I don't have a livewell plug. I'll have to get one of those from basspro. I should probably be putting one in every time I'm out cruising/skiing, eh?

I have a front and rear livewell, I will try the same with both.

I rescrewed and resealed the entire rub rail this past winter, as I thought that was originally the cause.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'm going to give that a try this weekend.
