I ordered some ratchet straps but when I attempted to install them, it appears that they sit too high and the hull will it the straps when I unload/load. On my 2018 Z19 the anchor point is just outside the motor lower unit. I know that on some trailers, the anchor point is on the side. I'd love to be able to leave the straps on, but I don't want to scrape the hull.

Our ratchet strap reels use one bolt affixed to the inside ends of the trailer channels. Nitro installed. They are not tight. The single mounting bolts are almost tight.
They swivel on the mounting bolts. They swivel down when the straps are loose. ie when launching etc. We hook the straps to the transom eye's and the ratchet mechanism is facing upwards. When we unhook the straps the mechanism swings, drops down. Even when hooked the mechanism does not come near the hull for trailering.

I think I drilled new holes to move the retractable housing as far back on those steel tabs as to be lower then the bunks. Got a new boat orherwise I would have taken a pic. B😁
