Their models look the same except for the color of the case. What's the difference?

And, if you had to choose between a Lowrance, Eagle or Garmin (240 by 240 pixels), which one? There is a big price jump between the Garmin and the Lowrance.

I know we've had this discussion before, but the Eagle-Lowrance issue wasn't addressed. Thanks!

Marketing. Ford VS Licoln! The lowrance might have a few more bells and whistles. NOW though, there is more of a difference than in years past. Eagles are more entry level or price conscious buyers products, while Lowrance is the next step up. Lowrance offers a bigger line of products too. On the less expensive models, there are Eagle counterparts, but there is no Eagle match to the X-15. Much like the Licoln town car is comparable to the Crown Victoria, but Ford makes nothing that compares to the Licoln LS. Same as Toyota and Lexus. Given all the problems I've had with Eagle this year and Buzzs' and Curtis' problems with their X-15's, I'm leaning heavily towards Garmin more and more. Will let you know. I contacted Garmin and they were all over my e-mail. Customer service was awesome. I contacted Eagle because my FIFTH NEW unit has fogged up on the 1st day of use like the others.......nothing.....no response. That's OK, my money spends just as well at Garmin.

Yeah I agree with Rob and Sam on both points. I have an older Eagle that is just like the Lowrance counterpart and love it, very sturdy, but the newer ones are getting squirrely.......................sa

I have an Eagle Acura that is pretty much a Lowrance X-65, with a few less menu options. Very good unit. It does hold the memory settings.

The newer Eagles will hold their memory, that is just the lithium battery. Otherwise the only difference I am aware of is the backlighting.

I just bought a Garmin 160, and love it. I understand that the detail on a 240 is signifanctly better. That was one of the main reasons that I didn't spend any serious time considering a Lowrance.
