Anyone have a lead on an inexpensive one person brake bleeding kit? I have self installed disc brakes on my Trailstar and have a very minor leak at the cylinder which will entail me removing the cylinder unit from the tongue in order to tighten up the back-up solonoid. I am sure I will get some air in the line and just wondered if there is a simple kit to bleed the line at the farthest brake caliper. I have reduced the leak with epoxy putty but would like to fix it correctly.

I bought an inexpensive brake vacumn pump at pep boys or one of the other parts stores. I forget what it cost but it wasn't much.

Bill, I am assuming that your system works like mine (a screw driver is used to cycle the actuator at the tongue). I used the old fashion method to bleed mine. I got a large mason jar, some clear tubing, and a can of fluid. Fill the jar about 3/4 of the way up. Put the tubing on the bleeder valve, and submerge other end in the jar (make sure the open end stays in the fluid). Cycle the brake actuator slowly, pausing momentarily at the end of each stroke to allow the air in the tubing to escape. Clear tubing and a glass jar work best for this as you can see when there is no more air in the tube. When there is no more air, tighten the bleeder and remove the hose from the jar.

Bill-

There is a Harbor Freight outlet store not 2 miles from my house. If you want I'll go over, see if they have this bleeder and get one and send it to you. Let me know if you do, and I'll let you know how much to buy and ship .

Thanks for the offer Ken. I think I will try to locate one here in Kansas City first or something similar. I'm not in a big rush because the leak is very small. Just trying to plan for a rainy day when I can't work outside.
