Bob B, question for you, and others

Bob, I am considering buying a new Opti 90 for my boat. Are they heavier than my 2006 2 stroke? Are they solid motors? I am a little upset with Merc after having a bearing problem after 6 years of service. Believe me I took real good care of it. I don't have many hours on it. I hate putting money into it , and have some other problem later. I know this could happen to anything. Do you believe it would be wise to have it repaired? Anyone have the Opti, I would like to know if you like them or not.

My 02'90 has been flawless...I'd get er' fixed if it were me.

Opti is heavier and they sure ain't cheap..nice but, not cheap

Bubby I have the 115 Opti (05) on my TV-18. I do all the annual and routine maintenance and run Sea Foam with every fill up. I have only used Merc oils etc...... Never a problem so far and it runs strong. I don't see an advantage with the exception of better gas mileage. It also starts easier in cold and first of the year than my old EFI. So I guess I do see some advantages.
