I don't condone what Ike did at all, but let's get real,
1) at first I was mad at the fact that he kicked a pole down that was holding the American Flag, but I think "Clark" said he probably didn't notice the flag and I agree he kicked something it just happened to be holding the flag, I sincerely doubt he was disrespcting the American Flag, if you think that was his intention (to disrespect our flag) then time for a head exam. IMHO.
2) He won on publicity - Hands down, he got more publicity than any other Pro's out there those three days.
3) Who was the guy who won the classic??? Exactly, did you notice he let the American flag drag along the deck of the boat? I did. He also said, "I didn't cuss like Ike", on Day 2 during his weigh in, (arse smoocher, if you ask me)
4) You never forgot to turn on the livewell, or something else on your boat??? I doubt that very much.
5) Did he have a fit, yes, would most people have a fit? Yes, $500k on the line, again if you would not get mad at yourself for that error, time for the exam.
6) Lets put blame where it belongs, ESPN was the one who covered the event, Ike didn't want that on TV,? Blame ESPN for coverage at nauseum.
7) The first DQ was voluntary
8) If you think the other Pros don't have fits, think again, that fact that Ike is a "Household" name in BASS is the reason it was on TV. Nobody cares if 80% of the field curses or has a fit during the classic. If Ike does it , it's newsworthy. Does anybody remember J. Bitter a couple years ago, having a fit because somebody was in his spot
It's easy to not like Ike, I'm not sure if I like him, but...... it's not because ESPN decided to expoit his anger on TV to the FAN base of BASS, it's not because he culled dead fish, or certainly not because he forgot to turn on his livewell, I feel bad for him for the oversight, with $500k on the line, I might have been a lot worse than Ike.
