I have no digital pictures of the bigger fish. My mom should be sending some prints soon. Thought you'd enjoy pictures of a few dinks. That's about all we caught but from speaking to others I didn't feel too bad because several guys were getting skunked.

Here's the view from the cabin we stayed in. It was really beautiful.

Dink #1....You could catch these perch all day long on just about anything. Some of the perch we caught were actually pretty big.

Dink #2....Rock bass are pretty easy to catch once you find them. We filled a few stringers with them. They are pretty good fighters on my ultra light pole.

The Infiniti was a trooper except for gas mileage, about 12-13. The ramp was very steep and I saw a 4X4 truck struggle on it. I put it in 4 wheel drive and drove the boat right out. Not sure what that guy was doing wrong. With the trailer and all the gear the back end was a little lower than the front. Not enough to hurt anything I don't think. My dad suggested getting air shocks installed so I could use them only when I needed to. I haven't decided on that one. I turned the overdrive off the entire way but I did use the cruise control even though you guys told me not to. Just to far to drive without it. Overall, I am quite pleased with my SUV.

Teri,

Nice pics. Sounds like you had a great time and had great view too. Too bad the big ones didn't cooperate. I catch my share of dinks too!!

That's my girl.... making sure she poses with the fish. Sure brightened up the pics :)

Beautiful view of the lake!

Size doesn't matter - Fun does!

Welcome home!

me!

I know right? That's place just screams corona and lime and Jimmy Buffet! So it appears not a lot changes from Champlain to MN, still rockies peckin at your line. They're like mosquitos.....no matter where you go, there they are!

Yeah Rob but don't those perchies make some mighty fine nuggets?!?!? Gimmie a well full of those tasty fishies anyday!

Teri,

You mentioned some damamge to the bananna? What happened?

TOXIC

My friends drove it up on the boat lift and one of the guides had fallen over the side of the metal post so the bottom of the hull scraped the post. Left a nice size gash on the left side of the hull.

The motor decided not to start while we were there. The fish finder base broke on the way up. I guess the cover must have knocked it around. The front live well didn't work either. I took it to the dealer there because I thought the battery wasn't holding a charge. They said they rigged the boat wrong and some wires were mixed up and it could have affected the battery connection. Cost me $76 because they couldn't charge it to warranty work. They did fix the live well but not the fish finder. I can't decide how to deal with the dealer here. I have already had it in for a leak in the hull and it took them 3 times to get the fish finder to work. The dealer in Minnesota was so nice. I wish they would move here. I don't feel the other one treats me with respect.

The difference... the one who sold you the boat has your money, the one in MN didn't have it yet :).

On gashes, get used to them. My hull has several cosmetic character scrapes. As long as it isn't deep, just smile while cringing when it happens.

I think it's pretty deep. It's showing the metal but it doesn't appear to be leaking.

Teri, you should take your boat to a good fiberglass repair person ad have them look at it before it gets worse.. Glad you enjoyed your vacation and it does look peaceful around the lake..

I thought I would wait until the end of season to get it fixed.

Teri

if you can see fiberglass fibers put some clear fingernail polish over it to seal it up until you get it fixed. fiberblass will absorb water so you really need to seal it.

Teri, looks like a real nice place, beautiful view and the lake looks great!

Nice perch too, they're alot of fun on ultra lites, even bluegills on UL are fun! Sounds like a nice trip, glad it went well for you, egMike

That picture was from Woman Lake in Longville. We also took the channels to Girl Lake and Child Lake.

Great pictures Teri. Now you have to learn to let go of the jig head, put your thumb in their mouth and hold them by there bottom lip. Junt DON'T do that with them toothy critters (Musky, Pike, Walleye, etc.)

When you come to Michigan, Mac and I will teach you how to catch and properly hold 4+ lbs smallies.

See, just like this. (you may need two hands)

Ok, ok just to put your mind at ease, I do fish with lures larger than a 1/8 jig. Crankbaits, spinners, top water, I have about every common lure there is but when they aint bitin' and you have kids in the boat, it's time to find the dinks.

Teri,

Did you notice that Marke is NOT the one holding up that smallie!!! You should go to Michigan, get Marke to take you on the water and let his son show you how to catch em!!! Then go for a ride in Mac's Ranger and fish with a "pro"!!!
