hello, great, another magna series boat!! greg,we have company!!
welcome aboard.i have a 93 magna19.now for the fun to begin.pull up the decks, peel the carpet off the old plywood.use them for patterns.
get marine grade plywood.cut it.stain it,varnish it,whatever to protect it a little better than normal, especially on the cut edges.get carpet and glue for marine use,or indoor-outdoor carpet glue works ok.stainless staples to hold the carpet on the backside.
mark your stringers on the inside of the hull, use stainless screws,#14 screws.drill pilot hole through the wood and into the aluminum stringer.put a little neversieze on the screw for lubricant on the screw.use a 1/2" drill and screw the floor down.
now if you want to get crazy, put foam camper tape down on the stringers before you lay the floor down.check the foam underneath the flooring for watersoaking, and rot.check for loose rivets and such, while the floor is up,the livewell drain hose is kind of easy to access now.check the fueltank since it is right there down the center of the floor.dont drill any holes into it,mark the tank on the piece of flooring before the tank.i know its stupid to say it,but stupider things have happened.
check back through the messages here.there is a wealth of information here.me and greg have the same boats, same year, only i have a 90 rude and a 8 merc kicker.check out our member librarys for pictures of the boats and such.
greg, did i miss anything???oh heard the walleyes are on the feed around here!and me not out getting them!kind of sucks, but got a 78 ford bronco yesterday.needs work, but hey,new tow vehicle!rough but workable!with a power angle plow, and softtop, and fibercap for $150!couldnt pass it up!check it out.
