Hi, im don,my father posted about me getting my new boat, a magna deep v. Everything on the boat is in really good condition, only needs new floor from counsol back, does anyone have any suggestions on how to, or diffrent products and ways of installing.

hello, great, another magna series boat!! greg,we have company!!

welcome aboard.i have a 93 magna19.now for the fun to begin.pull up the decks, peel the carpet off the old plywood.use them for patterns.

get marine grade plywood.cut it.stain it,varnish it,whatever to protect it a little better than normal, especially on the cut edges.get carpet and glue for marine use,or indoor-outdoor carpet glue works ok.stainless staples to hold the carpet on the backside.

mark your stringers on the inside of the hull, use stainless screws,#14 screws.drill pilot hole through the wood and into the aluminum stringer.put a little neversieze on the screw for lubricant on the screw.use a 1/2" drill and screw the floor down.

now if you want to get crazy, put foam camper tape down on the stringers before you lay the floor down.check the foam underneath the flooring for watersoaking, and rot.check for loose rivets and such, while the floor is up,the livewell drain hose is kind of easy to access now.check the fueltank since it is right there down the center of the floor.dont drill any holes into it,mark the tank on the piece of flooring before the tank.i know its stupid to say it,but stupider things have happened.

check back through the messages here.there is a wealth of information here.me and greg have the same boats, same year, only i have a 90 rude and a 8 merc kicker.check out our member librarys for pictures of the boats and such.

greg, did i miss anything???oh heard the walleyes are on the feed around here!and me not out getting them!kind of sucks, but got a 78 ford bronco yesterday.needs work, but hey,new tow vehicle!rough but workable!with a power angle plow, and softtop, and fibercap for $150!couldnt pass it up!check it out.

Welcome aboard Catfish. Magna 19 about covered it except if you are doing the floor from consol back you might think about moving the riders seat closer to the side, this boat does not have a lot of room between the drivers seat & riders seat to walk though. I know when I have to redo mine I will move the seats over. Magna about time we got another good boat on this site LOL. Catfish I have a Yamaha 50 HP 4 stroke on mine.

Welcome "Catfish"... I'm another Magna owner '93 Magna 19... And, you are in good hands with Jeff coaching you... Follow his lead and you'll do fine...

I'll cover "Catfishin' " with you later... I was raised on the Mississippi River so I am a catfish lover...

HI,thanks for all the help,,yes I had fun catching that one on the ohio river. Plan on spending alot of time on the river next year anyone wanna go catfishing look me up.

Simnitro I will see you sunday.

my winter project this year was to redo all the decks in my boat.it still might be done, but got the bronco to get up and running.but its still early.

i figured each section in my boat will run me about $60 each.screws extra.stainless screws if you can find them at a bulk hardware store would be the ticket.youre going to need at least 2 lbs of screws.

while the decks are up,like greg a said, move the seats a little.replace the pedistals with the better ones.the factory ones just do not hold up to abuse.i plan on replacing the passengers side one with the same as the drivers.fixed floor mount, non removable.

now is the time to do some upgrades, wiring for the electronics, the factory wire is ok,but i would upgrade it so you know it will handle the draw of all the add on electronics since the livewell and bilge pump runs through it,besides the finders, gps, and so on.change it out to 8 ga wire.if the shift and throttle cables look origional, change them out,and add 1 ft to them for the bend.it isnt fun to have one break on you in the worst time, such as the get together on lake champlain this year, just the shift on mine broke, but the winter is the time to do it,not in the middle of the season.they are cheap,$60/set.

yes it is nice to get another magna series here!how many do we have here now?i know of 4 so far.we might be slower than the fibers, but we get there in numbers!

nice cat there!
