On the 94 nitro i just bought the trailers spare wasnt mounted under the bow and I didnt get any mounting hardware. Do they just use a stainless u clamp and nuts or is their a way to lock it for theft

The answer is "both"... On the stainless "U" bolt one style can be fixed to the trailer with two lug nuts and then over the luig nuts are paced two long nuts with holes in each through which the shackle of a lock is attached to both...Or, there is a "bracket that fits over both ends of the "U" bolt and lock in the center, another is a two piece item that locks over one end of the "U"bolt... Lots of choices "Google" Spare tire lock...

You can get this as the mount: http://www.basspro.com/Spare-Tire-Carrier/product/31847/-636560

And you can use this to lock it: http://www.basspro.com/RiteHite-Spare-Tire-Lock/product/100863/-1112832 or this: http://www.basspro.com/Spare-Tire-Lock/product/30569/-859585

Tractor Supply has a nice mount which can be installed different positions $29.00 and they have cable locks that way you can go through your wheel around the trailer securing your tire and your mount from theft. It's sad we have to spend money to protect our things but the more hassle you can cause a thief less likely he'll get your stuff.

I have some friends that fish South Holston and they both have had there trailer plugs

and spare tires stolen this fall.
