On the way to work this morning, I was listening to some of my favorite rock & roll..... Steppenwolf..... Meatloaf..... Big Brother and the Holding Company..... And the soundtrack from the "Rocky Horror Picture Show".....



Then..... I thought of the cast of characters here on this site!



And how we might do the "Rocky Horror NTOWS Picture Show".....

I just remember something about asking a question of "Will it play in Peoria" when it came to whether a movie would make it for the general public..... Guess it has something to do with the conservative midwest.....
 
When that movie first come out, we had so much fun :) When they'd do the toast thing...Everyone would throw toast at the screen...do the dance...and everyone played their part..pretty hilariuos:)
 
Did you see the Drew Carey show episode when they were all dancing the Time Warp? :)
 
Yeah I did...The Time Warp sure does bring back some memories:) Even though they're kinda' blurry:)
 
I'll confess, that although this movie certainly falls into my time span - I've never seen it. So, I don't have a clue to the things you are talking about.



Oh well. Guess I just lived a sheltered life.

I've been to it a few times as a Highschooler years ago, Like Tee did the toast, etc... Actualy had a date take ME to it one night in Highschool, she went as Magenta!! LOL

I'm even queezier thinking about singing "Touch-a, touch-a, touch me, Creature of the Night" to you!

You haven't lived until you have gone to a midnight showing of RHP! Let's see, it involved toast, squirt guns, toilet paper... I can't remember what else....

Thanks "ME" - I appreciate you considering me as the Leading Character in the Show. Id would suggest ORV play Meatloafs role.

PS. ORV has no ideal what were talking about - he's a mid-60's man - Country, Westerm , and Blue Grass.

LOL! I wasn't referring to Don as "Simmy"; I'd NEVER confuse the two! Don had posted the same message as a regular post; both here and there I told him how wrong he was..... In the other thread, Simmy told me to "let it go"..... So I just edited both of my postings with the same note to Simmy.



Riff Raff was the butler with long, white hair who was dancing with Magenta. Don't worry, Neeley is really quite harmless!

Simmy's about the right age to be in the cast;)

One of the funnest things I ever saw....Back in 1982 I was selling cars (Datsuns..remember them?). One of the other salesmen, Eddie Van Horn, who was a real character and I got to talking to another one of the salesmen, Jamie, about Rocky Horror Picture Show. Jamie was a REAL cowboy with the ostrich skin cowboy boots, starched creased Wranglers, and a big Stetson. Anyway he had never heard of RHPS so Eddie and I convenced him that it was like the scarriest movie ever made and it just so happened it was showing at the midnight movie this Saturday night. That Saturday, Eddie and I take Jamie to the movie. We got all the way into the theater without Jamie noticing the freak show that was going on around and then it happened......Some dude in drag wearing a black bustier with garter belt and black silk stockings, high heels, and a little silk robe for a coverup, spots Jamie. He prances over and throws open the robe and says, " HI THERE, COWBOOOOOY!!" Jamie doesn't know weather to break and run or punch the guy and Eddie and I are paralized with laughter. We get Jamie into the theater and found some seats. We couldn't watch the movie because it was so much more fun to watch the look on ol' Jamies face. I'm sure he agreed it was the scarriest movie he had ever seen.



Ahhhhh. Good times.
