Well Yesterday was the Opener for my neck of the woods. We decided to hit a lake that is hush hush among the bass community since it is so darn good .

We get to the launch at the crack of dawn and launch . We could not even start the gas motor since the whole bay was 100 ' trees under water . There was so much structure we did not where to start so we started throwing Rico Stix into the pads and immediatly pulled fish . This technique was getting us lots of fish but nothing over 2lbs . So we decided to find some weeds to flip .

We eventualy find a bay that has a unique type of weed for the lake and start flippin . We where killing the bass on jigs . Eventualy the action slowed after we burned up that spot . We went in search of the exact same type of weeds but found only one bay that did produce.

After giving that first bay a break we head back and start round 2 . Thhis is where I got big fish of the day. Not a record breaker but could be a good kicker for a tourney .

Total count was over 50 largemouth . Most where 2 poundish with the odd 3.5 mixed into the bag. BF weighed in at 4.3

Be safe on the water
