Anyone have a solution for the famous motor guide bearing chatter? Anyone tried the "Troll Perfect" thingy?

Thanks, Randy

i have the troll perfect and no it does not help my loud noisey motorguide, i wish i would have gotten a minkota, my motorguide is liud and embarrasing on the water , but dont buy the troll perfect, it will do nothing for the noise

Randy, i assume you are talking about the bearing mounted to the lower end of the larger shaft. Remove the setscrew and pull down the bearing, clean it up with brake cleaner, let it dry then apply a silicone based lube. Once you have done that replace the bearing and lock down the collar. That should do the trick. Remember, do not use a lube that remains tacky because road debris will stick to the lube making the problem worse.
