Lowrance Elite 5 Question

I purchased a new Lowrance Elite 5 in November. Finally installed it today. I purchased the Navionics HotMaps South region . I cannot get it to read the Navionics. Not even showing some of the major waterways in my area. Any help appreciated.

I was told the maps don't work well with coastal rivers and bays.

Doug, I don't believe my GPS is reading the Navionics.
