What is the difference in an A40, A45, and the new Tempest + props.

Example: Mercury A40 Tempest 27" pitch or A45 Tempest 27" pitch, or New Tempest Plus 27" pitch. What is the difference in performance, construction, etc?

I see a few of all of these used props advertised and am in the market for a good spare but would like to know the difference before I go dropping a couple of hundred on another prop. KENNY

To the best of my knowledge it has to do with the design of the prop. The A40's more may have the standard rubber hub. The A45's may have to newer Flow- torq II hub adapters. Also it has an effect on the PVS system whether it has the fixed rectangular type holes or the variable and replacable plastic plugs for the PVS. I found this stuff out on my own but have no hard facts that this is exactly what they mean. Some of the newer props are up to A46,7 & 8. Just my $.02 Carl
