I own a 2001 Tundra with a 115 hp Merc. When using the boat for extended periods of time on the water I get water leaking out on to the deck plate behind the drivers seat. I just spent three days on lake Simcoe and the water saturated 3/4 of the deck carpeting all the way up to the front consoles. I thought it was coming from the livewells. I have eliminated those as it happens even when I do not use them. I tried to remove the rear raised deck but can not get it out as the side panels will also have to be removed, those are full of rivets and would have to be ground out. Last one I ground out got so hot it started to melt the plastic on the trim.

I noticed several lines running along the side wall to the console that may be the souorce of the water. It looks like there is a plastic tube running from just above the cavatation plate, on the motor, to the dash. My question is, are there any lines running from the rear of the boat to the drivers console that contaian water? Are the water pressure gauge and speedometer lines filled with water? I do not see any type of pick up for the speedometer I am use to like a paddle wheel or a pito-tube, does it work on pressure form the motor? Is that what the line on the cavatation plate is for? If so why would no one talk about those lines when winterizing the boat? Wont they freeze if the water is not pushed out? Are there any other lines from my motor that may contain pressurized water that could be the source of this leak?

I can't help you with you're wet floor but you probably have 2 water filled lines running up to you're dash, one for speedo and one for water pressure. I winterize mine up here in WI by trying to suck the water out of the speedo line and short of pulling off the pressure line do not know how to drain it. Knock on wood neither one has burst by freezing, maybe they expand a little.

Tim,

Do you remember if we put the updated livewell kit in your boat?

You may have a pinched line....bring it in and let us fix it, no need to do it yourself.

Ken, yes they put the updated livewell kit in. I did find a few leaks and some gaps along the top edge of the rear livewell. I filled both livewells, front and rear bait wells also, and let the water sit for two days in the garage. Occasionally I circulated the water with the pumps with the manual switch in the recic. position.

I still have not figured it out yet. Wll take the boat out this week and look closely at the lines running to the dash. I do want to bring the boat back in for one more look but right now I want to fish. I have another trip planned to Ontario's Lake Simcoe, the Walleye will be in the rivers soon, and the Musky fishing is good along with the perch ouot on St. Clair. I will call Tim Smith when I get off the water.

See you out there.
