Saw a guy spray WD-40 on the terminals of his 3 batteries at the dock today. I use it as a lubricant( that doesn't sound right), what was he using it for? Is it a good thing to do?

Eric

Yep,...it's a water repellant...prevents corrosion and keeps terminals clean!;)

mac got it right, wd or water dispearsement- 40th attempt = wd-40

it works

Yep....developed by a couple dudes in the defense industry.....making a combo lube-h20 displacement agent for high altitude, machspeed missles and rockets. Their "40th" attempt was perfect! If it's good enough for a air-to-air missle,...it's sure as hell good enuff for a bass boat and dang near EVERYTHING around the house/car/truck and camper!

The "old" WD-40 had a fish-oil base to it....it was used a lot as an attractant/cover scent,..but I think i read somewhere recently, that the fish-oil has been replaced with something man-made...who knows...maybe they didn't want to call it "WD-41" LOL

Spray away!!;)

'Round here we believe there's only two tools you need: WD-40 and duct tape.

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.

If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Your welcome. :lol::D:lol:

I would add Zip ties as sometimes you want things to only move a little.
