I have a rather embarrassing question lol. I have changed my impellar a couple of times without issue. (2005 merc 150 xr6). However, can someone please tell me where the rubber gasket/slinger goes. I have always put that inside the top housing in the slot at the top. But I have seen some videos where they actually just slide it over the shaft and let it rest on top of the housing. The first time i cghanged it it was inside the housing and that is why I have continued to put it there. Have I been doing this wrong?
