I have a 2011 Nitro Z-6. It's been out about 6 times. I've had some issues with water in the hull. Today while cruising across the lake at 3000-4000 rpms, I turned on the bilge pump and I could almost leave it on. It kept pumping water every time I was up on plane cruising. WTF!!!!!!!!!! any clue where the water is coming from?

First thing I would start with are the connections to all my pumps, i,e Bilge, livewell, etc. Do you have your livewell on auto/manual all the time? if so, the water will overfill into your bilge area especially when you take off. These are the first and easiest fixes I could come up with.

next check the screws under the rub rail these hold the cap to the hull and water can come in if they are not snug.

Put the boat in the water and open your bilge access to see if you can actually see where its coming in. Cycle all of your pums and watch. You may be able to see where the water is coming in. I had a small leak when I got my new to me 08 Triton. I filled the live well and found one of the lines on the recirc pump leaking. Many things you can try. Another thing that happens to me is when I come off plane. If I dont goose it before the wake catches up I get water on my back deck which then goes into the bilge area. I goose it every time now so that issue is gone.

I once had a new ProCraft with the same, it is going to me something minor. They over tightened a nipple on a livewell pump on mine, you probably have something similar or a loose plumbing fitting as the guys above mention. And on my Nitro as Max suggested my livewell on manual setting WILL overfill the well, and dump water into the bilge. On auto it should be OK. Should be 1 of these 2.

I just bought a used 2008 Z6 and when I took it out after cleaning the hell out of the bildge area ( mildew because it was kept outside, covered) I knocked off the line to the aeriator and water was coming in through it....scared the hell out of me until I found the problem. Oh, you need to remove the screwed down deck that sits over the bildge area ( I assume you have that black deck board....) That way you can see all the hoses and bildge area clearly. I did not put my black deck board back.....I want to see what is going on down there....even installed a light to see better. You can also add an automatic switch to your bildge pump for a safety net.

Thanks for all the helpful replies guys.....would it be a livewell problem if I'm not operating it, and it's almost empty. Again the only time it takes on water is when Im on plane flying across the lake. I did notice my water pressure gauge only shows about 10 psi at 3000-4000 rpm's. Is that normal, or could that indicate where the leak is coming from.

sounds more and more like what i described above. this happens with new boats the screws dont get put in tight enough.

or, you have a hole in your brand new hull?

wich one you gonna hope it is? i vote screws under the rubrail, good luck.

Thats a little low for water pressure at those rpms. Try this. Get a buddy, pull the water pressure hose from the back of the console. Next, pull the same hose from the motor and plug it. Then, blow thru the hose. Should be no air getting thru. If you are able to blow thru the hose, you may/prob have a hole in your water pressure hose. Def a prob if your only getting water at higher rpms. Have you got under the boat to make sure there are no cracks in the hull? Dont just look at the hull, feel it.. Anyway to have the boat in the water and swim under the boat and look at the area where it sits on the bunks of the trailer? I know thats getting a little extreme but that water is getting in there somehow...
