water entering thru livewell

I have an 04 700LX which when stopping and starting fills the battery storage with water as fills thtranson well and enters under the rear lid. Does anyone know of a solution for the problem?

When the boat starts falling off a plane gradually give it more gas, this ought to stop the water from entering the splash well.
