Vinyle Seat Repair

I screwed up royally this weekend...cut my boat seat with a pair of pliers. One of my buddies tells me the damaged area can be repaired. Any of you guys done the same and if so, what are my repair options. Trying to do some homework prior to calling my local Ranger dealer and I guess a couple of upholstery shops.

I would check around at some of the used car dealers or detail shops for someone that does vinyl repair. These guys usually travel around from one car lot to another and are quite good at matching color and grain texture. Will it be an invisable repair?....no, only a new piece of vinyl will make it look like brand new. Beware of amatures or beginners who buy a kit from an entrepreneur magazine. Make sure you can see some of their work.
