Value of used outboards....

I will be purchasing a used outboard in the very near future in the 40 - 75 hp range for a 16' Starcraft that i am restoring. NADA values appear to be way below what people are asking for used outboards. Is this a case of whatever someone is willing to pay or should I stick to the NADA value. Thanks in advance....Gilly

NADA values are always low IMHO when it comes to boats/motor's.....prepare to negotiate as always, but also expect to pay more than "book value"!!
