I couldn't figure out how to run that pull cord through my Gator Mount so I went over there and they showed me! So simple I felt stupid! I couldn't figure it out 'cuz I thought that the cord had to go around both locking pins.....

Then, I explained that I was likely going to have to buy a used/new mount anyway because the hing bolts were stripped..... Linda handed me a $3 kit to replace them! Neat! Saved me some buxs!

You should see all the STUFF they have in that place! You name it - they've got it! Trolling motors, fish finders, GPS units, I think I even saw a few Senko's up on the walls!

Give them a call if you need anything - they'll ship! Tell 'em I sent you!

me!

Ok Scott, so how was it so easy, since it looks like I'll be replacing mine AGAIN! And do they have the one with the casing, or do I just put some surgical tubing over it?

I haven't done it yet, Rob..... They just showed me where the cord was threaded. I had thought that the cord ran the entire length of the barcket and didn't realize that there was a link between the two locking bars. From what I saw, it should be pretty easy to run the cord through using either the line trick Mac mentioned or some surgical (roach clip) forceps. I'll let you know after I've actually done it.

For the hing bolts on older Gator Mounts that strip out of the frame, you remove the old bolts and redrill the holes to 3/8". Then they've got a new bolt that you put through with a flanged end on the inside and new nyloc nuts for the outside. The flanged end is held with an allen wrench while you tighten the bolts. Pretty simple!

Scott,

What's a roach clip?? Do I need one for the next rally?

It's something that we used back in the 60's and 70's, Bob..... Those of us who couldn't afford to go to Canada (for black flies, of course) either stayed home or went on vacation with our Uncle Sam to the beaches in Vietnam. We used clips to hold roaches - a close cousin to the dreaded black fly - for inspection and contemplation.

Those Roaches sure are crunchy, I like the cream filled kind!

Good point Sooner!! I'll have to remind my partner every now and then about how much tournament fishing time we waste going back to unhook snagged tube jigs when he gets them for virtually free anyway....LOL

Next time he says..."Hey,..I'm hung up,..should i break it off or do we go get it??"....I'l just listen for the SNAP of the line than turn around and say,.."Huh??...did you say something?!"....ahahahahahaha...is that mean or just takin' my fishing more seriously?!..hhhmmm

Mac

Or how this one. The salesman at the local Tracker dealer tells me about his partner getting hung up in the top of a dead tree. (Tree Trout are very common in Okla.) He gives it a good hard pull and the whole top of the tree breaks off and splashes just a couple of feet from the boat. He must of been packing 50# Spiderwire. I never did find out if got the lure back or not.

Unless it's over $5, it's history in my boat. But I like your approach Mac. I had a guy one time that came ill equipped. Told him they were on a spinnerbait bite, and he shows up with none. I give him some of my Picasso's and Terminators. Needless to say, he can't tie a know to save his life either, and in 3 consecutive casts, launches over $20 worth of spinnerbaits into orbit. I then tied on a swivel snap for him and dug out all my old crappy, $1.99 cheapies I save for his kind. Ya know the ones the pike have all but snapped in half.
