Anyone know where I can find somethin to strap down the foot pedal? I was at both Cabelas and BassPro this weekend and nobody has any...........will the regular troller tie down from rod saver work ya think?

Mike

You might try "industrial strength" velcro on the bottom

Bruce, this is on the sport model, they don't screw it down because its supposed to be able to remove, but now that you say that, if the foot control has mounting bolt holes on it, I may do that............

All of the foot control pedals have (I think) 4 holes to screw it down. Lots of guys have tried velcro or screws. On the Sport model Mike how often do you think you'll remove it??

I kind of like being able to move it around on my 189, I can change foot is I desire and with my bad back that is a plus. I do like the velcro idea though.

Rod saver the people that make the rod hold down straps had a kit out that you could use on trolling moter foot control that used a velcro system so that you could move peddle any where you wanted I dont know if they still make it I bought mine in the late 80s on my old boat

TREP,

I won't be removing it, this is why I want it secured.........I opted for the short cord since I won't be removing it at all since I mostly will be fishing out of it anyway.........

I recessed mine into the deck and screwed it down.

You lose a little of the convienence of being able to move it exactly where you want it. But knowing exactly where it is when you set your foot on it more than makes up for it to me.

I got tired of having it slide around and having to search for it with my foot.
