I've noticed a lot of water coming aboard and I would have to turn on bilge pump to drain. Today I noticed that it looks as though my transom is cracked right where my motor is mounted is this normal does it just to have silicone put in to keep from leeking or do I have a more serious problem?

What boat/motor. Pics would help but I would recommend that you not put the boat in the water. A cracked or damaged transom is about as bad as it gets. I would get it to a professional asap.
