I cut my transducer cable to my TM Mounted FF this weekend. Can this cable be spliced? Or do I need to just buy a new TM/cable?

Thanks

Your probably gonna need a new transducer and cable. I just ripped one up when I was buffing my boat. Got the cable wrapped around the buffer pad. Needed a new one.

Jason, I have spliced one several times on a previous boat I owned. It will work but I never knew how much detail I may have been losing. Most of the time I just use my finder to read the depth and watch the temprature so it didn't really matter that much. Chris F.

Splice it....you will be fine. Just dont remove a bunch of cable. It has to stay the same length (plus or minus a few inches).

Just remember to make the splice as solid a repair as you can. Data transmission is affected by the quality of the cable/wiring/fiber optic, etc.

splice it with metal connectors called sta-cons, makes a great connection
