you want the trailer to sit almost level when on the hitch, with just a slight "rear towards front uphill" angle. If it's too far up in the front, it will not have enough tongue weight. If it is too low in the front, it may make the trailer weave side to side too much.... A lot of people don't have the right hitch configuration for the trailer weight/vehicle spring configuration. Find level ground, try turning it over & step way back & eyeball the angle of the trailer hooked to the vehicle. Another way is to measure X" in front of & behind the axle from the trailer frame to the ground & look for a slight increase on the front side measurement. A fine tuned hitch, is a happy hitch! (& a pleasue to pull)
