Got a weird one I'd appreciate any advice on.
Had a night club tournament last Friday night. Hooked up and had a 15 mile trip or so to the lake with no problems. Fished until 2am and came in to load up and weigh in. As my buddy was pulling me out, I noticed he was giving my truck quite a bit of gas to get me out. I figured he forgot to disengage the parking brake but that wasn't it. As we got out of the water and up the ramp, we noticed the rear starboard brake had engaged on the trailer.
Had a few guys from the club looking at it with us and noticed that we could back the trailer up and disengage the brake, but it would engage again after pulling forward anywhere from 2-10 feet or so. Surging forward or easing forward didn't seem to matter. We tried a few combinations with the wiring harness hooked up / not hooked up.
Finally decided to open the bleeder valve in hopes of draining the fluid / losing pressure to the brakes and just rely on the truck brakes on the way home. Did that, drove it around in reverse for a while, and after it locked up just a few more times, it finally quit. Drove it home really slow for 15 miles with no lockup.
It's a 1997 tandem trailer for a 912 Savage. I've had it since February and put some miles on it, so I just didn't get it out of storage. It had been a couple weeks since I had it out before last Friday.
Any advice, links to reference material, etc.. would be appreciated.
