Anyone have any pro's or con's on the Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 V8. Considering on purchaseing one! A quad cab or extended one,not sure if I want a 4X4 or 2WD. Would be towing a 2001 Pro Deep V 16 SC for now! Would this be a good choice???????? What about future use if I should upgrade to a 18' Targa or Tundra???? Right now I am using a 92 Grand Caravan 3.0 with 76000 on it. Going to Rainy in late July.

I have a 94 Dakota with the 318 V8 in it. Ihave a NX882

that i pull with it. It does fine thanks to the brakes on

my trailer. The Dodge should be fine for what you pull.

I have a 2000 quad cab with that same engine and towed a 901 for two years. I now tow a 929 with no problems....It doesn't like to pass a gas station though....

That would be a fine choice. I just got one myself and i love it. i tow a nx882 with it and i dont know its back there. I got the quad cab 4x4 sport plus with the 4.7. just make sure you get the towing package and hd service package and you will be all set. if you get a 4x4 with the bigger tire package like i did get the 3.92 gears and the ls differental.

Definately NOT the standard differential and 4x2; there's wa-a-a-ay too much power in that engine to be running it through just one wheel. The "locking differential" (I think that what Chrysler calls it.) would be an excellent upgrade for either drive configuration.

me!
