I have noticed significant tire wear on my boat trailer. The inside 1/2 of the tire has significant wear while the outside 1/2 has plenty of tread. Any advise on fixing the issue? Outside of a simple tire change?

Mike I had the same with my 884 Nitro and found it to be a bent axle. They had to replace it with a new axle and were able to use all the parts from the old axle, hub etc.... still cost quite a bit to fix it as the boat was well out of warranty.

Mike,

I had the exact same problem on my 95' 170TF. I got tired of going through tires and the local trailer shop guy ordered a custom axle from Florida, cost me around $250.00. The original axle on the trailer was rated at 1500lbs if I remember right, could be mistaken, but I know it was surprisingly low. The one I replaced it with is rated for 3500 lbs and is hell for stout. I also replaced the springs (minimal cost) and it rides like a whole different trailer, doesn't have the oscillating bounce the last set up had and the money is well worth the confidence and peace of mind on the road. Good luck.

Have someone you trust check your trailer before you get screwed. My old Champ had new tires on it, and they wore on the inside on both tires, the tire dealer said it was the trailer, and would not do a warranty on the tire, I had a trust worthy source check it and there was nothing wrong with the trailer axle or trailer alignment, so i took the paper work back to the tire place and they replaced them free of charge

same prob here. had it checked out and the axels were off but 1 1/4 inch. Nitro continues to dance around the sloution for over a year with me. Just another reason why not to own a nitro again.

Does Nitro/Tracker even build the trailers or are they built by someone else?

I'm sure you thought of this but just in case....you do have them inflated to max tire pressure right? That could make a difference in tire wear....
