TIRE COVER

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHER I CAN GET A GOOD QUALITY SPARE TIRE COVER. I PURCHASED ONE FROM BPS BUT IT ONLY LASTED A COUPLE OF MONTHS,IT SHREDDED INTO PEICES. MY TIRE IS LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF MY TRAILER SO I THINK THE WIND IS JUST GOING TO KEEP DESTROYING MY COVERS UNLESS I FIND A GOOD ONE. AND DOES TRACKER MARINE STILL SELL A TIER COVER. THANKS

Brad, if I find a nice one I'll let you know. The only reason I've yet to purchase one is for the same reason they seem to be made low quality. For the winter I wrapped mine in a super heavy plastic bag. Maybe someone has seen some heavier quality. I'll stop at an RV dealer one day after work.

If I remember properly, it seems I purchased my tire cover at Cabela's. My spare is also mounted on the side of the trailer and the cover has lasted for two years with no problems.

My black, $20, vinyl Bass Pro tire cover has been on the last four Nitros over the last five years and even with close to a 100k miles on it, when cleaned and dressed it looks brand new. Nitros through 2001 were "possum-belly" carriers. I bought another one at the same time for a Targa 18 I got for my brother-in-law and I'm sure if he'd clean it, it would look as good as mine. His Targa spare is on the side. Maybe the location of yours, being on the side, may require re-positioning of the holder (loosen the four nuts and gently move fore or aft) out of your tow vehicle's buffetting or a banded or case style like the above. I've seen them in the J.C. Whitney catalogue in the $50-$60 range. Tracker also sells a nice, embroiderable, canvas type tire cover availlable through the parts dept. at your Tracker Dealer.
