I got a new 901 with an in dash Zercom flasher w/temp guage, also a Lowrance X-65 w/temp guage at the bow. The Zercom sensor is at the bottom of the transom, and the X-65 sensor is on the skag of the trolling motor. The Zercom reads about 6-7 degrees higher than the X-65. I think the X-65 in closer to true. Is there any adjustments/calabrations that can be made? Would a new sensor probe make any difference or is it in the unit? KENNY

6-7 degrees higher is a tad much, but you're TM sensor goes a bit deeper than the one on the back. As the surface temps should be higher this could account for some difference. Check them out of the water and see if they are equal reading air temps.

Zercoms have always read higher than lowrance. It is difficult to get 2 lowrance temps to read the same in the same water....

Use it as a relativity tool....fish warmer water in the spring, or track a few days worth of readings to show a trend. Dont rely on any of them to be accurate to the point that each unit will be the same.....
