My 'opinion' is that he certainly has some great abilities both as a leader and as an athelete. No question. His ability to perform as an NFL QB is still very much question.
I give him and the Broncos all the credit for winning the game. They executed well enough in the 2nd Quarter and on 1 play in OT to win. On the winning play, Tebow threw the ball to an open receiver about 15 yards away. He can do that. The receiver then finished the play (and the game) with his running ability after-the-catch. Given the absolutely poor defensive effort on that one play by the Steelers, every starting QB in the NFL (and most every backup QB in the NFL) could have executed that play. Stand in the pocket and throw 1 pass 15 yds to an open receiver.
What is Tebow missing - that he needs to continue to improve on:
1) His completion percentage needs to be at least in the 60% area - closer to 80 % to be truly effective as an NFL QB.
2) He has to learn to throw to a 'spot' and not simply to open receivers. He can't do that yet. Needs this desparately.
3) No team can win consistenly throwing the ball 15-20 times a game. Most games, they have only been throwing 15-18 times (or less).
4) You cannot win consistently in the NFL, when you are only effective in 1 Quarter; or in the last 2 minutes of a game. Don't care how good your defense is (and Denver's is pretty good).
Now, if the Bronco's can go to New England this weekend and be competitive or actually win this game (not at all likely), I will eat whatever dish of crow you want to serve up. I expect that this weekends game to be very one sided in favor of New England. Most playoff games in general, are not very 'close'. This one won't be either.
