Am I dreaming or is there a website out there that has a list of states that allows boaters to deduct the gas they put in there boats during a year. I know I have seen this before but I can't remember where. And I know Texas was on the list.

Just a note to clarify part of the statement above. As the link that Mike has put up states, it's a way to get a rebate on State Gasoline tax. Not a way to deduct them from your taxes.

Texas does not have an income tax.

Does it apply to other states besides Texas?

Thanks Mike and Texas....I knew it was something to do with getting money back....just could not rememeber all the details about it.....

In Virginia you can't deduct it, but you can apply for a refund through the DMV. Just save your receipts, fill out a short form, mail it in and thats it. I got back about $125.00 last year.
