Well, I'm back from my trip to deliver the Targa. Met Steve and his father (John) on Saturday afternoon at Rend Lake in S. Central Illinois.

First, let me say that's it's nice doing business with folks like this. Very enjoyable experience, and one that was very positive in nature.

The weather was the pit's, but provided a real good test of the boat and it's dry ride. The wind was whipping in the 15-25mph range, as the big front and storms had been circulating about. The lake had 3-4 foot swells on it. While waiting for Steve to arrive, two fellas in a ProFisherman 17 (I believe that was the model), ventured out. Went out about 300 yards past the protective sea wall, turned around and put it right back on the trailer.

Anyway, our check ride went fine. Boat operated pretty well, given that Steve was behind the wheel for the first time. We found a little bit of slightly protected water so that he could get a little bit better perspective, then ventured out into the mix again. Boat jumped up on top with not too much problem. Three adults, two livewells and two baitwells full, in 3-4 foot seas.

Finished up the transaction, and headed back south. Last item on the list was Steve having his Dad take a picture of both of us shaking hands in front of the boat. The 'Big Walleye Boat' (as we have referred to it in my bass club), now has a new home in Hudson, WI. I would have really liked to have been there when they got home and Steve's three boys got to see it for the first time. Was probably a special moment.

Steve has been browsing the site a little bit, and I think we can expect a new member shortly.

Thanks again to all those that contributed to the other posts and such on delivery. I am now officially an ex-Tracker/Nitro owner (for the second time), but will still be here.

You'll just have to learn to put up with my Stratos questions!
